I love when Blake and I get to spend a weekend at home. It means we get to visit all our favorite places that we love. We are very excited to be partnering up with Aquatalia to take you through our weekend with us. I think what’s great about the beginning of Spring time is to refresh your closet with new styles that will transition from the colder weather to the warm. Blake and I will be sharing our three fav pairs to get your through the season.

For our first stop, we visited our current favorite coffee shop, Honor Coffee. While I grab lattes daily, I love that on the weekends we can spend some extra time to unwind. I feel like Blake and I are always on the same wavelength when it comes to dressing. Simple and chic. While some weeks I find myself in gym clothes more than real clothes, I take the opportunity on the weekends to dress up. Taking the extra time to spice up my look and get a little more dressed up makes me feel so confident and like I can take on the day. This look was centered around these creamy nude pumps. Since I am such a denim girl, I love to dress up my jeans with pumps. Want a little tip for Spring? Wear a pair of cropped denim and you can really show off those shoes and little ankle. It elevates the look with the change in silhouette. I paired a classic white blouse with the denim since I love a good play on texture. To make sure my look still had an edgy touch, a wrapped leather jacket was the perfect layer. Spring time weather can flip flop from hot to cold on a dime so I always come prepared with a light layer. This wrap jacket is also a great alternative to the classic moto style. Blake’s dressy shoe of choice is always a laced up oxford. I think the key for him and dressier shoes is getting them in neutral tones so he can mix and match them into his wardrobe since he is less inclined to grow his shoe collection than I am.

For our second stop we usually hit the farmers market and run some errands. I always pick up some fresh flowers to add a soft fragrance to our living spaces. For our second outfit, it was all about slides for both of us. For Blake, he started with this amazing blue driving slipper. He is obsessed with slide in shoes because they are easy and no fuss. What I love about them is how chic they can make even your simplest of outfits. Blake chose a navy colored shoe so he can mix and match with his denims. I think for men a navy shoe is still a neutral. Most men love dark denim so the dark navy is the perfect neutral compliment. For my look, I can not stop buying slides of all colors but when it comes down to my must have for Spring, I needed a great black leather pair. Most of my accessories are black or neutral so when I am making an investment for the season I need to find a pair of shoes that will blend well with the accessories I already have. What I love about this pair is the white piping around the top. Since I have a few favorite white bags as I move into Spring, I love how this slide can pick up on that white color. Whenever you are buying your staples for the season, take a look at your most worn bags, sunglasses, etc and make sure what you buy will blend with them. Since those are your favorite, be smart about the colors you chose to invest in if you want them to become an everyday shoe. To show off the slides, I picked a cropped asymmetrical hemmed jean. Love showing off a little ankle and I am always cold so I love cropped denim in the Spring time.

For our last stop, Blake and I always make time to take in a sunset at the Beach. I know it sounds cliche but this is truly the reason I moved to California. I love being at the beach and take full advantage of being outside and enjoying these moments. I love that in Southern California it can be 80 degrees during the day and then 60 degrees at night. That ocean breeze let’s me invest in some light weight knits to keep me cozy at night. For my outfit I have been dying to add in more texture this Spring. Since slides are my favorite thing right now, I picked out this woven cream slide. These woven textures scream Spring time to me. Love the lighter color so I have a nice contrast from the other black leather slides. This pair has a small stacked heel that gives it a subtle dressy feel. For this look I paired the slides with a textured light weight knit sweater. Love the oversized feel of this sweater and it’s perfect to cozy up in the sand. For Blake, his last shoe selection is this leather tan cream sneaker. He loves the comfort of sneakers but wanted something with a twist. This pair has an incredible texture and gives his look that extra finishing touch. Blake is a simple dresser but investing in a a few stand out shoes really changes his looks from Winter to Spring. I have to say I am as obsessed with the mens collection as I am with the womans. Hope you guys liked seeing both of our style today.
