Amber - Congratulations!!!! I messaged you after your post in June after your failed transfer. I resonated so much with your post because I also have a son near Otis’s age conceived through IVF and I had just had a failed embryo transfer in July. I was so heartbroken, as you were, and we also only had ONE frozen embryo left. We transferred that in October 2020 and if failed. I’m a Christian and I didn’t know what the Lord wanted me to do next. I prayed for wisdom and was slated to return to my RE doctor in January after my cycle regulated. I prayed a bold prayer and asked God to get me pregnant if he could naturally, and to do it this cycle. otherwise, I needed a huge sign that he wanted me to to another egg retrieval and to provide the funds. Well, guess what?!? I got pregnant naturally in January!!! In all the 5 years of trying, never did I ever get a positive test, except with my ivf miracle, Lucas. This is truly a miracle and God is so good! I am almost 9 weeks and things are going well. Like you, this has been a harder pregnancy physically and I emotionally feel like I live by weeks and milestones like you are. I just wanted to reach out and tell you my miracle story and congratulate you on your miracle too! Best of luck to both of us!!!ReplyCancel

As I sit here typing the words, “I am pregnant!” it’s words we have been dreaming about for almost a full year now. Literally working toward each month. For a year. My heart can’t stop smiling thinking about it,…

Sophie - This makes me so happy!!! My boys are a few weeks younger than Otis and they were my third time is the charm embryos. I remember the complete despair after my second failed transfer and your posts brought me right back to that place reading it. Infertility never leaves you, your pregnancy announcement today brought me back to the utter relief and excitement I had when I got my positive too. I’m now pregnant with baby number 3 due in June so it’ll be so much fun to read all your second pregnancy posts and compare notes!!ReplyCancel

Chrissie marra - Have been enduring the IVF process for some time now (with the Covid stop as well!)- low egg count, abnormal eggs, fear of needles, hatred of pill medications – all of it. I have actually been avoiding reading things because it stresses me out but in prepping for us finally getting to our first egg transfer day in two weeks (and we only have 1 egg from the last retrieval), I’m so happy to have stumbled on your blog and read your journey. It is so incredibly accurate in terms of the emotions, the stress etc. and also super informative as I finally get into this next phase. I’m so happy to read that you have a baby on the way!ReplyCancel

Carrie - Hi, so happy for you! Just a question, at any point after your failed transfer did your doctor talk to you about doing an era test?ReplyCancel

    • February 5, 2021 - 4:35 pm

eat.sleep.wear. - Yes I did. I did era testing before I got pregnant with Otis and my results were normal. So that is why my Dr decided it wasn’t benefiting to repeat that test again for me. Maybe if my ERA came back needed adjustments for my FET then we would have re done era for baby 2. Obviously personal decisions made with my dr. xo, KimReplyCancel
