This past weekend I headed out to do a little shopping for a dinner party. More importantly I was shopping for the perfect cocktail to feed my guests. I get over whelmed with all the spicy cocktails out there that are typical holiday ones, so I wanted to try something brighter and different. I slipped on my trusty flats to head out and run my errands. I headed to the Reading Terminal Market for my ingredients.

I wanted to create a drink that was special to Philadelphia, so Brian suggested I try Rhuby. It’s made right here. It’s based on an old Pennsylvania recipe which is kind of awesome. Nothing like bringing a little vintage into our cocktails. I decided to make the Black Rhuby Lemonade.

You will need:
2 Parts RHUBY // 2 Parts blackberries // few basil leaves // sparkling lemonade

I muddled the berries, basil and RHUBY in a glass. Add ice and sparkling lemonade and stir.
Then strain the drink into your cocktail glasses and garnish with some fresh berries and basil leafs.
A bright, alternative to the traditional holiday spirit.
