More leftovers from an incredible trip to Hawaii. I wanted to share some little tid bits about my fitness routine in this post. I guess when you are getting married, all any bride can think about is looking her best on her big day. That means different things to different people. For me, it was taking this opportunity to FINALLY get into shape. I am definitely a more slender body type and after my years of dancing, I never really came back into the kind of a shape I was in back then. Like many people… working out for me is a struggle. I think the hardest thing for me is actually getting my butt to the gym. That initial motivation for me is by far the hardest. I know I am not alone with this!! I also tend to get super bored just trotting away on the elliptical. Foot injuries and asthma keep me from being a runner so I was looking for new ways to step into some type of fitness routine. I was on the search for a full body workout to get myself strong. I decided that at home workouts might be what I needed. I knew about the INSANITY workouts and I did that once and it was literally too insane for me. Then I heard about Focus T25. My friend was telling me about it and it was only 25 minutes a day. So I thought to myself… if I can’t spare 25 minutes a day.. what is wrong with me?! So for the first time ever… I stuck with something for a week. After day 1, I felt like my legs were gonna fall off. I was in such horrible shape my body was likely just rejecting working out. HA. But, the videos were fun, and different.. and they hooked me. I couldn’t find any more excuses to not fit my workout in. In all honestly, sometimes I didn’t do it every single day like the schedule suggests. I think what I got more out of these videos, is that it’s all about doing the best that YOU can do. Keeping up as best you can, and just putting all your sweat into it. During those stressful last 2 months before the wedding, these workouts became one thing that I could count on to clear my head. For those who follow me on snapchat (user: eatsleepwear) I am sure you started seeing my fitness selfies starting to pop into my feed. I started feeling more confident about my body because I felt good about myself and what I was accomplishing. Seriously I couldn’t believe the results I saw in only 2 months of doing these work outs. I also changed my diet to cut out all bread, fried foods, and most gluten for these 2 months ( I was eating rice and quinoa) and I think that also dramatically helped to ease a lot of the stomach upset I was having before this process. I feel like I haven’t been in this kind of shape in a long time and it makes me so happy that I did it on my own. Now, after my honeymoon and coming back from vacation, I have some work to do to get back on track with things. But, I just wanted to share one of my super positive fitness experiences with you. I don’t often talk about it on the blog. Hope that this Monday, I inspire you to get up and shake it. Whatever that means for you. If you believe in yourself, and you apply yourself, it’s amazing how you can change your day. This post is NOT sponsored. I just seriously love these work outs!!! If you want to try them out you can get them off Amazon here.

coffeeslag - LOVE the scalloped edge on that bikini top! It’s such the rage these days and I think it adds a little pizzaz to an otherwise simple top. I will say that I haven’t yet worn loose pants to the beach, mostly because I like to walk in the water and then the bottoms of my pants get all dirty!

Rory - First of all, i love that bikini! And you look great–you definitely have a bikini body!
Second of all, THANK YOU for that inspiration! I’ve just checked out T25 and will definitely be heading to planet fitness today, at least. I don’t know if I could do at home workouts–all the food/family around might be too much. But I already have a planet fitness membership so i might as well start using that!
Haha

Erika - Good job! Next up try Pilates, if you were a dancer you will love it. Lengthens and strengthens and works the core like no other workout! I teach Pulates and do yoga…my go to exercises xo
Seppy - Love reading this as I’m going through a health kick too! It’s Fascinating how working out has become something I look forward to but I definitely agree that you have to find something that works for you. If I’m to go to the gym, I have to have something to distract me like a tv show. But my favourite has been working out from the comfort of my own home where I don’t have to worry about commuting or getting my sweaty ass back home!

Jody Winter - Thanks for sharing Kim. Getting in shape when you are still in your twenties is the best approach. I waited until I turned 40 and it’s so much harder. You have the legacy of your bad eating choices from decades before… grrrr. Like you, I am also proud of what I’ve achieved, but keen to do more.
A Fashion Page - obsessed with your lace pants!!
