Last week I had the opportunity to head to Joshua Tree with one of my favorite Philadelphia based brands, Free People. I have been shopping Free People, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters for longer than I can remember so being invited on a trip to explore the desert with them was very very special. What was even more special is that Otis and Blake were able to join me for it! I haven’t spent more than 1 night away from Otis so the logistics of dealing with breastfeeding and spending so much time away didn’t even have to come up. Blake took some time off of work to be able to come and give me a hand while I was headed to events. This particular day we took a trip to the Moorten Botanical Gardens. It was lush with blooming succulents and tons of those desert cacti and agaves. The weather was perfect and in the high 70’s so it was great to be in the desert and not be sweating my face off. It was also very quiet since we missed the big Coachella crowds by going on our trip during the week. I will say one of the best parts of the trip was spending so much time with old friends and new. Lots of time spent driving and telling our life stories in the car and it always inspires me so much to see so many of these incredible woman creating so much beautiful content and story telling in their own professions. The group was a mix of influencers, editors, and other creatives and after a week like this I am always left feeling inspired.
We also got a chance to do a guided hike in Joshua Tree National Park. To see the park in such great shape after all the fires and to see so much life in bloom was incredible. It’s a big reminder that we all need to do our part to take care of this planet. With today being Earth Day, don’t only thing about the small things you could change to help make the Earth a better and cleaner place, TAKE ACTION. Every small little step is in the right direction. Hope I can inspire you to spark a small change today no matter if that is switching to using a reusable water bottle or using energy efficient lightbulbs. Let’s all do our part to make this world a better place.
