Head-And-Shoulders, Venice

Head-And-Shoulders, Venice

Excited to bring you my second post in collaboration with Head & Shoulders. I got a chance to spend the day with Head & Shoulders celebrity hair stylist Sunnie Brook Jones. I mean, how often do you get to shoot the breeze with such a cool chick? So, naturally I spent the day talking her ear off and asking all my deepest and darkest hair questions. Sunnie planned the day stopping at some of her favorite LA places. As a newbie to the city I was excited to see where the day would lead us. We started in Venice Beach to grab some brunch at Axe. I enjoyed some poached eggs and latte of course and learned that Sunnie is a born and raised Cali girl with easy breezy style. I connected with her over our style, because we ended up showing up in similar outfits! Kindred spirits? I think so. Scroll down to check out all the places we went, and some hair care and styling tricks from Sunnie all thanks to Head & Shoulders.

For the second stop we took off our shoes and headed to the sandy beaches of Marina Del Rey. We sat with some magazines and got to know each other a little better. I don’t think there is a single person in LA that doesn’t list the beach on their must visit places.

Our next stop was one of my favorites for pamper time. We headed to the Ramirez Tran Salon so Sunnie could give me some background on Head & Shoulders newest Fresh Scent Technology collection, and teach me some tricks to bring home on how to effortlessly rock a gorgeous, flake-free part by starting with the foundation – a healthy scalp! Because my poor hair needed some help from constant time in the sun, she decided to use Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue. Let me tell you it smelled delicious. Also I need a conditioner that is heavier since I often get so many nasty tangles and this one worked wonders. After she shampooed my hair, she blew my hair dry in small sections. After each section she would pin it up in a little curl to hold its shape while the hair cooled down. She suggested this works great to do before your makeup so that you can let your hair set while you primp your face. GOOD TIP! Next she took all the curls down and created more texture at my roots with a wavy flat iron. She said this was a quick cheat to use at home to grain some more texture at your roots. Genius. Love easy tricks that I can learn and do at home on my own.

The last stop of our adventure day was Perch located in Downtown LA. The perfect end to a day of girl time. Such a cute French inspired space and surrounded by the high rises of this urban part of town. I think one of the best things about what I do, is being able to collaborate and meet all of these creative people. I am so lucky to be able to spend time and learn from these incredible people. A HUGE thank you to Head & Shoulders for sending me along with Sunnie for the day to learn about your newest line. I also have to thank Jenna Bechtholt for following us two ladies around town and capturing the day so beautifully.
