**This part of Mexico has recently been hit by a hurricane leaving it paralyzed. I hope that this post shows the beauty of this amazing place and I am hopeful that it will be rebuilt to it’s full glory. Sending good vibes to all the people affected and hope this serves as a tribute to such a great part of Mexico.**

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Mexico and I are having a little bit of a love affair. It’s a quick and easy flight or drive for me from LA so I expect to make it a regular little getaway spot. Have some tips on where we stayed and how to pack for your own little getaway.

The Hotel We stayed at The Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos. Because Blake is a Starwoods member, we often look for hotels in their network so we are always building rewards points. The resort was clean and the service was top notch. It was my first time staying on a resort of this kind so needless to say I was just a little bit excited. We got a double queen bed room in thoughts that would make our stay cheaper since we were traveling with our married friends. WRONG. When we checked in they charge an additional amount per person in the room. So beware of those extra charges. All of a sudden our cheap room got $200 bucks more expensive. The pools were great and honestly it was too hot to do anything else but be in the water.

Make restaurant reservations before your trip. Most resorts have some great higher end restaurant choices for you to get dressed up at night and have a great bite. Unfortunately we tried to do this on the fly and there was NO space or availability. Planning your Mexican resort trip? ALWAYS book  your reservations before your trip so you have a chance to experience them.

Pack light. By light, I mean, you won’t need clothes. I am exaggerating… just a little bit. I honestly wore a bathing suit and cover up for 90% of the day each day I was there. I had all these high hopes of outfit changes at night and packed all these options like a good little blogger. It was far too hot and humid (we went in July) to do anything of the sort. So, my advice, pack a rainbow of bathing suits, cover ups, a sun hat and 1 or 2 loose easy dresses to throw on over your bathing suit.

And there you have it! Would love to know where you get off to on a long weekend?
