Excited to start sharing some more photos from my Honeymoon to Australia with you all. I knew we wanted to head to a a place I had always dreamed of visiting. Australia is SUCH a long flight (luckily ours was a 14 hour direct flight) and we wanted to spend at least 2 weeks there to make the time change worth it. That jet lag is BRUTAL let me tell you. When I started planning our trip, it’s hard to know the best hotels and locations to stay. Mr & Mrs Smith was the perfect solution. Also known as Smith Hotels, they curate a selection of boutique hotels all over the world where they test drive every single place with their own team. Staying in the rooms, taste testing all the food, and trying out the spa. Their reviews are pretty detailed. When I started to look at all the places in Australia what I loved most about searching the website was the photos! I hate when photos of the rooms and property are small and don’t show anything. To me, you are getting away for an escape and want to feel like the place your staying is its own little oasis. One of my big life dreams has been to visit the Great Barrier Reef. I knew if we were making the trek out to Sydney we would have to take another small flight to Queensland to check it out. I searched hotels in the Great Barrier Reef area and fell in love with Qualia. Now keep in mind, you go out all for your honeymoon right?? So I wanted to go BIG. Man, was Smith Hotels right on the money…. Qualia is probably THE BEST hotel I have ever stayed at for multiple reasons. It’s tucked away on the corner of Hamilton Island, which is a small island in a chain of islands right off the Great Barrier Reef. The BEST service I have ever experienced. Hands down. From the moment they pick you up at the airport (and shuttle your luggage in a separate car!) to the moment you check out, it was no doubt the best experience Blake and I have ever had. It’s definitely an expensive property, but worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I have to thank Mr & Mrs Smith for showing us one of our favorite places in the world. I will be doing a full recap of photos from the property and our stay with places we went, things we did etc! So stay tuned for that.
These photos were taken on a lazy day by the pool. Fun fact: Every room in Qualia is actually it’s own little private bungalow. Half the rooms have their own private infinity pools!! We were not lucky enough to experience that, so we got to enjoy this big beautiful infinity pool every day. Life is hard right?!? Hahaha. I would say we likely only saw about 8 to 10 people a day at this resort. So quiet and serene. We sunbathed, swam, enjoyed one too many glasses of rosé and just took in the view. Man… I want to go back RIGHT NOW. So excited to share the rest of our trip with you.
