I can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by. If you missed it, I shared my wedding here, here, and here and also shared my wedding video here. Getting married at the beach was something I had always dreamed about. Blake and I are both connected to that salty breeze and I could not have picture my wedding any differently. This first year of marriage has only gotta better as time goes by. One HUGE life moment was purchasing our first home together. Naturally, it’s a 5 minute drive from the beach. Everyone always asks me if being married feels different. I think for me personally, I feel so proud, excited and full of love to call Blake my husband. Nothing physically changed but I think us being together and stating our intentions only makes our commitment that much stronger. (Let me also say, I respect everyone else’s unique situation. Just explaining my own thoughts on my own journey.) Today I am excited to be partnering with MICHELE to share more about married life, and how I continue everyday to be a leading lady to my love.

When it comes to everyday successes and struggles, I think the biggest challenge to not let life stress affect how you treat your partner. Life throws you a lot of curve balls and a lot of things end up not going to plan. Blake is such an organized do-er always manages to get a million things done with ease. I am not so graceful when it comes to checking off my to-do list when I have a lot on my plate. I think we balance each out and both lift each other up when we need it. I try everyday to continue to be a leading lady for Blake by not forgetting the little things. Make sure to actually fold the laundry in the basket. Take a moment to put down my phone, and be present. Take my boxes out to the recycling bin. It all sounds stupid and small, but so many little things add up.

Blake and I both travel a lot and our schedules are always hectic. We have instated date night once a week to ensure we keep the romance alive and really devote some dedicated time to just focusing on the two of us. I think this is so important for the two of us to take a minute and slow down. Speaking of slowing down, Blake and I made a pact very soon after our wedding that we would celebrate our anniversary in Maui. We are SO excited to be headed back and experience everything without having to, you know, throw a whole big deal party. Ha! We plan on eating at our favorite restaurants and most of all getting lost on those insanely cool beaches and spending a lot of time taking siestas by the pool. I have been looking forward to this for a year and can’t believe it is here. When it comes to celebrating big occasions like an anniversary, I love the idea of a very special luxe gift that I can enjoy everyday. This watch in the photos is the MICHELE Serein and a great gift idea for the special lady in your life. Whether it’s a wedding anniversary (like me!) or a special birthday, whatever the occasion I love something special I can wear everyday. Adds a little sparkle and a big smile on my face that is for sure. As always, it really warms my heart to be able to share my family story here on the blog. I feel like these are all the beautiful parts that make me who I am. Thank you always for following along on the adventure with me.
