Summer is in full swing and I can’t believe we have been in our new home for 3 months! Time is seriously flying. I feel like Blake and i got to start with this fresh canvas and we are taking our time to slowly make our home ours. Moving in I was excited to finally have a backyard for so many reasons. A place for Lola to run and a place for us to hang out and host friends. I am excited to be collaborating with Williams-Sonoma Home to share with you my transformed outdoor space. I have always spent alot of time at William Sonoma (all of our wedding china is from there!) but was excited to dive into the decor world to create a space for outdoor entertaining.
Blake and I do alot of cooking. I also love to entertain. Moving into our place the first thing I wanted to do was set up the outdoors since the weather is just perfect here even at night. We have a stone patio that was dying for a big dining table. I decided on this teak extendable table because I love how teak weathers and wears over time. More character with every year. I wanted my first celebration to be a Mexican Alfresco dinner. What is more fun than tacos and margaritas? Love love love. I started my tablescape with a blue linen table runner and added some palm leaves for some added texture. Love using Melamine dinnerware + beaded acrylic tumblers outside so there are no accidents with breaking pieces. Love the pattern on the plates and the different hues of blue. Living by the beach I can’t escape those cool blue hues. Our dinner was super casual but I love a rolled up napkin to dress up a plate. When you are throwing a dinner party, it’s those small easy details that can really make your night magical.
Now let’s talk food! I know I just said Blake and I both enjoy cooking but sometimes, let’s be honest, we don’t always have all the time in the world. This particular night I grabbed takeout form my fav Mexican restaurant SOL. I CRAVE their tacos and black bean dip. The casual vibe of tacos and getting your hands dirty always makes for a carefree night. Also pretty excited we finally strung up some market lights that ended up being such a great addition to the mood. I mean, seeing your food when your eating is it super important too. For me, entertaining at home with close friends in a small intimate setting is one of my favorite ways to spend time with people. Everyone gets to talk and laugh together. Big thank you to Williams-Sonoma Home for making my outdoor dreams come true. Also SO pumped to finally start to share more and more about our home and lifestyle with you all.
Tomorrow I am taking over the Williams-Sonoma Home instagram. Be sure to follow along at @WShome for some more entertaining tips! Cheers friends.
