My baby shower was such a dream come true for so many reasons. I dreamt of being the mama with the sweet baby bump surrounded by friends celebrating bringing a new life into the world. Today was that day. After 3 long years. Grateful just doesn’t begin to describe what is was like planning for this beautiful day. I met Jacquelyn when she designed my Aloha bridal shower before our wedding. Ever since then, we ended up keeping in touch and became friends. I loved following her life with her two little boys and when we moved back down to Orange County, it was great to live closer to one another. She had followed our fertility story and told me with confidence that we would plan the baby shower of my dreams when the day came. Needless to say, we have both been looking forward to finally celebrating our little man. She is also a mom of 2 boys so it’s special to roll into motherhood with her as a boy mom!
Jacquelyn and the ladies of Beijos Events have such a creative vision. I didn’t want to stick to a traditional theme at all. I more wanted a modern coastal vibe with subtle blues, whites and pops of citrus. No shower games. Just conversation, sunshine, tasty food + drinks, and lots of love for baby boy. For the venue, we picked a place that Blake and I frequent with Lola for brunch, The Pacific Hideaway at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach. Nothing more fitting than celebrating close to home. The florals were so beautiful and the unexpected touch of citrus gave the arrangements such a fun modern twist. Also, I felt like a pregnant princess in my flower crown. Nothing like feeling a little extra special on our celebration day. Also can we talk about these BEAUTIFUL balloons?? I have been obsessed with Wild Child Party for so long and so happy to incorporate this beautiful display above our table. All the details down to the blue glass wear to the napkins to the custom signage… it was all perfect.
For the food, I opted for a buffet style breakfast because, it’s my most enjoyable meal at the moment because I am actually starving. I also love the idea of people being able to serve themselves and get up and move around as they please. I also had a little mimosa station set up thanks to my friends at Winc. Of course I drooled while my friends had mimosas and rosé but soon enough, I can indulge again. I also wanted to make sure I had LOTS of desserts on hand. My sweet tooth is HUGE and the cake was my absolute favorite. We also brought in some beautiful rentals to create a little lounge area to hang out in and it made for a beautiful spot for photos. I usually HATE the idea of opening presents in front of anyone but my friend Amy suggested I should open hers… and OMG. Little Lola Onesie for baby boy!!! My heart melted into the floor. What an amazing day surrounded by friends and family. A huge thank you to Beijos for creating the shower of my dreams to celebrate our little miracle baby.
