Excited to finally share Otis’ nursery with you all today! I teamed up with my dear friend and talented interior design guru Anne Sage to really bring the room to life. I didn’t want a typical theme that a lot of people do. I wanted the space to flow design wise with the rest of our home design (bedroom + living/dining room). I also wanted the room to have a sophisticated feel even though the room was for a baby. This way he could really grow into the space. You know I love neutral tones and we carried this color scheme into baby boy’s room. One of the first things we bought for the room was the glider and ottoman. This was a key feature for those late night feeds and snuggling baby. The crib was also a key element. I wanted something that would be able to grow with Otis and convert to a toddler bed. This one had nice clean lines and didn’t break the bank. Another big element for the room was the rug. I wanted something super soft and warm to be able to sit and play with Otis. I love the subtle pattern on it. For the dresser I didn’t want a traditional changing table topped dresser. Since I wanted a piece to grow with Otis, we opted for something modern and then we placed the changing pad right on top. Which by the way, I am obsessed with this Hatch Baby Grow changing pad because it has a scale in it! But it also looks so chic so it’s a big win win. Since the room is pretty small square footage wise, we wanted to incorporate a nice big mirror to give the illusion of a bigger room. We had our eyes on this one from CB2 for so long. It was out of stock for a while and we basically stalked it online and finally were able to buy it. We also changed out my existing light fixture for something more playful from mitz. Another favorite part of the room is the little area with the bookshelves and stools. I picked these shelves up from ikea (they are spice racks!) because I knew I wanted to create some space to display some books, photos and other odds and ends. The art pieces from Minted were perfect for adding some more texture and colors to the room. The artwork over Otis’ crib is my favorite. We also needed a cute hamper and I have been lusting over the Little Market ones for so long and so glad to finally find a place in our home to incorporate them.

I have dreamed of this room for years. While the room is perfectly styled, I never forget the road it took us to get here. I can not explain the joy I feel when I walk in here. The joy I feel being able to rock my baby here. The memories we have already made in this room. Watching Otis roll, watching him laugh, and organizing all the little shoes that he will one day fit into. It might just be the room that brings me the biggest joy. My heart is so full and it makes me so happy to be able to share this love with you all. Thank you again for following along this journey with my family and supporting my blog and business. And to my fertility warriors out there, I am thinking of you today and sending you strength to continue the fight. Because miracles happen and I know you will experience once.
