Margaritas are a favorite cocktail in my house. With Cinco De Mayo almost here, I wanted to share a fresh fruit take on our favorite tequila cocktail. It’s perfect for a warm spring day and I plan to whip these up tomorrow. Since I am currently pregnant, I also did a mocktail version of this cocktail for all my non-drinkers out there that still want the sweet refreshing drink. Hope you guys enjoy this recipe and let me know if you try it at home. I couldn’t help myself with the last photo of Lola. HOW CUTE IS SHE!

FROZEN WATERMELON MARGARITA
Makes 2 servings

Ingredients
3 ounces Tequila
1 ounce Cointreau
1.5 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 Cups watermelon cubes (frozen)
1 Cup ice
3 Basil leaves
Salt and limes for garnish

Instructions
1. Freeze watermelon cubes in freezer for 1-2 hours before prepping recipe. This really helps create that great frozen margarita texture. Remove from freezer when ready to blend.
2. Combine tequila, cointreau, lime juice, watermelon, ice, and basil leaves in blender. Blend until combined.
3. Rim glasses with salt (or sugar for my sweet tooths).
4. Pour into glasses and garnish with limes. Enjoy!

FROZEN WATERMELON MOCKTAIL
*Substitute orange juice for all alcohol and follow instructions above*
For all my non-drinkers or pregnant ladies out there, this was still a refreshing treat to enjoy without the alcohol.
