Christmas Books for Kids

Last week I took a trip with Otis to Barnes & Noble to stock up on some Christmas and holiday books. We only had a few from last year so I thought it would be a fun adventure to head to the store instead of pick out a bunch online. It’s been months since I have been to the book store and there is just something special about holding them in your hand, flipping through the pages and falling in love with them one by one. I brought Otis in the stroller so I could initially make my edit without chasing him through the store. HA! We went on a Monday morning right when the store opened so it was quiet, peaceful, and empty. Eventually I let Otis loose and he proceeded in pulling every book in his path off the book shelf and I chased him, putting every book back. What can I say, the kid loves books. I ordered these twinkly lights to turn on when we read our books at night and grabbed these little trees at the dollar section at Target. The simplest decor can really change the vibe of a room and this little twinkly of holidays has me feeling so excited for Christmas. Going to the bookstore before the holiday season is going to be added to our holiday bucket list for years to come. Whether you head to the book store, or the library, make sure to take a trip with your kids. Such a sweet memory to share together.

At the store, it’s funny because Otis kept STARING at Santa on the cover of this book. So I HAD to buy it. I made sure to pick up the Christmas Pout-Pout book since Otis loves the original one. He played with this flap book almost the entire time we were in the store and when we got home this touch and feel book was a huge hit. Otis is also currently loving Night-Night, Little Pookie so I got the holiday version of it. The book that pulled at my heart strings at the store was You’re My Little Christmas Wish. I read the first couple pages and almost started hysterically crying happy tears in the book aisle. Just basically talks about your little one being a wish come true. Threw it in the cart and never looked back. We did read it at home and it’s so sweet. All my fertility warriors… get that one. It’s perfect. Basically we have all the classics and then some. Can’t wait to see which ones Otis loves most. My money is on the Pout-Pout Fish

I recently posted Otis’ chair and got a ton of questions about it. This chair is from Pottery Barn Kids. It’s the “Regular” sized Anywhere chair. We got this as a Christmas gift last year and have gotten so much use out of it. Especially now that Otis is really becoming a little man, he LOVES to sit in it and flip through his books. It’s great because it’s so lightweight so we bring it out to the living room, our bedroom and pretty much move it all around the house when needed. We got this color but sadly it’s no available anymore but I do love this color and this classic grey. Great item to put on your holiday wish list.

Hope this sparks some holiday ideas for your little ones and stay tuned for more holiday gift guides to come.
